Science Olympiad 2017

Our Science Olympiad Team is small but mighty.  With only 10 members and 23 events, students had to work extra hard in the competition and are proud to come away with 5th place in the overall competition, where 25 schools competed.

Marlee Herring & Brooke McCurry will be moving on to the state level competition in the  "Rocks & Minerals" category. The medalists were as follows:

3rd place Anatomy & Physiology- Taylor Kanipe & Gracie McWhirter

6th place Astronomy- Marlee Herring & Brooke McCurry

2nd place Chem Lab- Marlee Herring & Taylor Kanipe

5th place Ecology- Gracie McWhirter & Savannah Hartman

2nd placeMicrobe Mission- Hunter Ledford & Taylor Kanipe

4th place Optics- Hunter Ledford & Nicholas Hovis

5th place Remote Sensing- Nicholas Hovis

1st place Rocks & Minerals- Brooke McCurry & Marlee Herring

6th place Wind Power- Nicholas Hovis (AJ Davidson had the flu and could not go; however, without his help we could not have placed in this event)

2nd place Duct Tape Challenge- Brianna Mowery & Gracie McWhirter
