  • Members from the Crest FFA Chapter placed third in the State FFA Poultry Evaluation Career Development Event on April 1st, 2015.

Seventy-seven teams from across North Carolina competed in the event. Students were tested on their knowledge of embryology and health management, placed market broilers, laying hens and meat products.  In addition, contestants graded ready to cook carcasses, eggs for interior and exterior quality and were quizzed on parts identification.

In the picture above, students are participating in a practice during a school planning day.  Members are working to evaluate ready to cook poultry carcasses using current USDA standards for quality. Team members are (l-r): Bobby Petrusson, Emily Keener, Carolina Yount and Charlie Qualls.

Thank you for supporting our students.
